Thé Pot is about home cooked food and great quality drinks in surroundings that give you a warm welcome and make you feel like your sitting in your friend’s kitchen.

The food, drink, internal style and décor are influenced by a combination of the owner’s favourite things, meshed with  café culture from Paris and San Francisco, two cities close to her heart. We hope that the result is comfortable and welcoming – faded glamour mixed with flea market and with tasty dishes served by the nicest bunch of people.

We think we’ve created something unique and that our little café stands out from the many chain coffeehouses. We have also established ourselves well and truly into the 21st century by installing wi fi – free with your food or drink, so come in and have your business meeting or do your homework.

New teas!

Lapsang
This Lapsang is unusual in that it originates in Taiwan – which isn’t famous for any black tea, nevermind this smoky variety associated with the Wu Yi Mountains. But there’s always been an affinity between Taiwan and its closest Mainland province. And this version of Lapsang Souchong (meaning Lapu Mountain smaller-leaves version) is the best example We’ve tasted – with some of the sweet, floral charm of other Chinese black teas and less of the monodimensional ‘Frazzles’ flavour.

Silver Needle (white)
The Silver Needle is also (charcoal) fired. And you can see this on some of the darker pieces. A White Peony would leave more of these in the mix. This contributes flavour. But there’s also a fruitiness to these
carefully-selected rabbit’s ears of tea – a bit like strawberry or tomato. I also get roasted aubergine flavours in later infusions (of which this tea produces many) White Tea is famous as the most unadulterated of teas but…

Dragon Well (green)
This dragon well is from Hangzhou. It’s really high in glutamate content and needs to be treated with some respect! Exposure of the leaves to air / light / heat is detrimental in a way that’s quickly perceptible, and steeping for too long, at too high a temperature will threaten these charms.
